Don Wood For Life - Program Description

Limits of Liability

  1. All liabilities, assumed by the Don Wood Automotive, are subject to the coverage, conditions, exemptions set forth in this Agreement.
  2. No replacement will be made if a tire is covered under a manufacturer’s warranty or manufacturer’s recall.
  3. The aggregate Limit of Liability for all oil changes and tires under this agreement shall not exceed $2000.00. For purposes of calculating the cost of an oil change, the cost of an oil change will be presumed to be $25 during the term of this agreement. The Limit of Liability for tires per repair shall not exceed $150.00 per tire.
  4. The vehicle Purchaser (Customer) assumes all liability for expenses incurred for vehicle towing, road services, storage, substitute transportation and any other expense not specified as covered by Don Wood Automotive.
  5. Don Wood Automotive assumes no liability for, and this Agreement provides no coverage for, the replacement or repair of stolen tires.
  6. Don Wood Automotive assumes no liability for, and this Agreement provides no coverage for, the replacement or repair of tires damaged by road hazards, including but not limited to, nails, spikes, glass, or any type of debris or obstruction encountered on a road.

General Terms & Conditions

  1. For purposes of this agreement, a NEW vehicle is defined as any vehicle still covered under full original factory warranty, and, has less than 6,000 miles at time of sale.
  2. For purposes of this agreement, a Blue Ribbon Certified vehicle is defined as any vehicle that has less than 20,000 miles at time of sale and is no more than one model years old;
  3. Coverage for NEW vehicles applies only if vehicle Purchaser (Customer) returns to Don Wood Automotive to perform all factory recommended maintenance services in accordance with specified vehicle’s manufacturer’s owner’s manual, and, within 1,000 miles or 30 days of the required Service Maintenance Interval (as defined in the Service Maintenance Interval section of Page 1 of this agreement); All services must be performed by Don Wood Automotive; No exceptions provided.
  4. Coverage for Blue Ribbon Certified vehicles applies only if vehicle Purchaser (Customer) returns to Don Wood Automotive to perform all factory recommended maintenance services in accordance with specified vehicle’s manufacturer’s owner’s manual, and, within 1,000 miles or 30 days of the Service Maintenance Interval (as defined in the Service Maintenance Interval section of Page 1 of this agreement); All services must be performed by Don Wood Automotive; No exceptions provided.
  5. Only passenger vehicles that require not more than 6 quarts of oil, and do not use synthetic oil or have diesel engines, are eligible. Also excluded from coverage and ineligible for the program are generally accepted “exotics”, including, but not limited to, vehicles from the following manufacturers: Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo, SAAB, Lexus, Infinity, Bentley, Land Rover, Hummer, and any other where recommended maintenance is paid for by the manufacturer. In addition, “Z-rated” and “V-Rated” tires on any vehicle, regardless of manufacturer, are not eligible for reimbursement under this Agreement.
  6. This Agreement does not entitle Customer to any consequential damages to property, loss of use, loss of time, loss of profit or income or any or consequential damage. Any implied warranties, including implied contract of merchantability, are limited to the duration of this written Agreement.
  7. All maintenance work specified in vehicle’s manufacturer’s owner’s manual or otherwise recommended by the manufacturer or Don Wood Automotive must be performed by Don Wood Automotive service facilities only.
  8. Only tires subject to normal use and wear will be replaced.
  9. Tires must have been used on the vehicle described.
  10. Customer must replace tires when tread depth reaches 3/32” or less. Replacement tires under this program must be mounted and balanced by Don Wood Automotive at Customer’s expense. Tires replaced under this program become property of Don Wood Automotive.
  11. If tires show signs of wear due to use while improperly inflated, this agreement becomes null and void. Tire pressures should be check by Don Wood Automotive at any time, without charge, at Customer’s request.
  12. This Agreement applies only to the original Purchaser (Customer) of the vehicle and cannot be transferred or assigned to any subsequent owner, including family members.
  13. This agreement is by Don Wood Automotive and not by the Manufacturer of the vehicle, and is offered to Purchaser (Customer) without additional cost as part of the purchase price of the vehicle. The Don Wood for Life Program will cease if the particular Don Wood Automotive dealership from which the Customer purchased the vehicle is no longer owned by its current owners, or if that dealership ceases business or ceases the business of automotive repair; under such circumstances, the Purchaser (Customer) acknowledges that no further rights accrue under this Agreement.
  14. No tire replacement shall be made without prior authorization from Don Wood Automotive.
  15. Tires will not be replaced if worn due to improper balance, improper inflation, improper wheel alignment, lack of rotation, vehicle modification or alterations, abuse, lack of maintenance, use as a commercial vehicle, livery, delivery, racing, plowing snow or if the odometer has been altered in any way. Vehicles purchased by employees are not eligible under this program.
  16. The Purchaser (Customer) acknowledges that there is no cost associated with the Don Wood for Life Program, and that the cost of the purchased vehicle was not adjusted in any way to enroll the Purchaser (Customer) in the Program.

What to do in the event of a Tire Claim

  1. Purchaser (Customer) must make appointment with Don Wood Automotive service department for replacement of tire(s) when tread depth reaches 3/32” or less; Tread depth must be checked by Don Wood Automotive prior to replacement at Purchaser’s (Customer’s) request. Note: Tires should be replaced by the Purchaser for safety reasons before the tread depth reaches 2/23”, regardless of coverage under this Agreement.
  2. Print copies of repair orders as proof that all maintenance services performed were indeed performed by Don Wood Automotive.
